Upside down text generator with flip, reverse and mirror
Type once and copy any of four versions. The note under the results names the characters that could not be flipped, instead of quietly leaving them wrong.
Four versions, generated in your browser. Paste any of them back in to get the original.

These are look-alike characters borrowed from other alphabets (IPA, Cyrillic, Georgian, maths symbols), not a rotation the platform performs. A screen reader reads them as those foreign letters, search will not match them to the plain word, and a few older Android builds show boxes. Fine for a bio line or a display name; do not use it for a handle, a code, or anything someone has to retype.
Nothing is rotated
Text fields cannot rotate a character. What every tool in this category does, this one included, is swap each letter for a different character that happens to look like it upside down, then reverse the order so the line reads correctly when the phone is turned over. The ɐ is a phonetic symbol, the ∀ is the mathematical “for all”, the ᗡ is a Canadian syllabic letter, and the Ԁ is Cyrillic.
Because the look-alikes are borrowed, coverage is uneven. Some letters have a convincing rotated twin and some have none, and the tools that claim a complete alphabet fill the gaps with characters that are simply wrong. This one leaves a character alone when it has no twin, and says so under the output.
Four outputs, four different jobs
| Output | What changes | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Upside down | Characters flipped and order reversed | A bio line, a “turn your phone over” hook, a reply nobody expects |
| Flip only | Characters flipped, order kept | Reads left to right but every letter hangs the wrong way up |
| Reverse | Order reversed, characters unchanged | Backwards text, palindrome checks, a puzzle in a caption |
| Mirror | Order reversed and letters mirrored where a mirrored form exists | The look of text seen in a mirror; expect gaps |
What it costs
- A screen reader reads these as the foreign letters they are, so an upside-down sentence is a string of phonetic and Cyrillic names to someone using one.
- Search does not match flipped text to the plain word, including the platform's own search.
- Never flip a handle, a code, a URL or anything a reader must retype. The characters look like your letters and are not.
- A few of the rarer look-alikes render as boxes on older Android builds. If the line matters, check it on a second device.
